This is all just semantics and how the word ‘opposite’ can be applied in different ways. I wouldn’t spend too much time on this.
Just a silly feller

I’ve never been an incel but I’ve always sympathised because I feel like I easily could have become one. Seeing a therapist and learning the basics of Cognitive Bias Therapy is what I attribute to helping me out of a lot of those ‘thought loops’.
It’s nice hearing stories about people who’ve escaped it.
Yeah, I did something for work where I had to study up about it and instead of being angry it’s just kind of a fun fact. I don’t actually mind what people say, I think everyone understands what you mean regardless.
I am the guy in the middle, except I’m telling people it’s octopuses.
I am glad this went in this direction. I kinda like a lot of the new slang, and am also chill with being an old loser using them incorrectly, it’s part of the evolution of language and I’m glad to play my part.
The comments are funny but if you read the article he just did it for the bit. Apparently he changed quite a bit over that time and regretted being an angry forum nerd, so he thought it would be funny to do one last post and abandon the account.
This is where I’m trying to get to. Any new software I try to make sure is foss and linux where possible. It’s just a bit of a pain with music because there’s a lot of tools I’ve bought over the years and would like to continue using.
Yes, I’ve been trying hard to squeeze some linux into my life, currently trying to turn an old laptop into a little music machine for jamming with on me midi keyboard. I’ve run across quite a few issues just trying to get specific software working. I did cave at one point and try to use windows 10 but their installation media tool would fail every time I tried and the hardware is too old for windows 11 lol. It also triggered my gag reflex just thinking of all the ads it would feed me and all the bullshit I’d have to disable to make it respect my privacy. A number of different distros just worked flawlessly, though, and if all I needed to do was simple computer things and web I’d be laughing.
Yeah, there’s still some other little things, but it’s surprising just how good the out of the box experience is, especially considering how little support the project has had from hardware and software vendors.
Linux is honestly great, literally the only things holding it back is programs supporting it. I’m painfully tied to a select few windows programs for work and hobbies, Wine tries its best but programs need to start supporting linux before proper adoption can kick off.
Yes, I agree. I’m trying to rid myself of as much as I can, but unfortunately it’s not always practical.
I actually don’t hate onedrive that much. I’ve used it for a while now and it’s one of the best ways to just share a folder with some people very easily. And they can even use the desktop app and you can all have a cloud synced folder, it’s really convenient for collaborating on projects. I know other things can do this, but few do it as seamlessly.
That said I’m trying pretty hard to ditch it because I hate how Microsoft are just making it the default behaviour without really making it apparent that all your documents just get uploaded to their servers. I hope proton drive gets the features I need soon,.
Taking care of our less fortunate is one of the best uses of taxes there is, would you rather them go toward bailing out more corporations or more tax cuts for the rich?
This is awesome, I hope more places do this, or at least put much greater restrictions on it.
Of course they won’t accept making less money, the answer isn’t apathy, though.
Look, I enjoy uncertainty, too. I’m a silly little teacup orbiting Jupiter agnostic joker. But there are times when you can predict with a fair degree of certainty what’s going to happen. If you were being completely honest with yourself you would admit that enough people going vegan would probably have a noticeable effect on the animal agriculture industry. And yes, admittedly neither of us know if that’s true or not. But either way I’m not going to give that industry my money because I’m pretty sure they’re just going to use it to keep killing animals.
I’m not judging what you do, but be honest with yourself, the money you give them is probably going to go toward killing more animals. Maybe they’ll change their mind and all decide to stop tomorrow, but until then I will keep trying to disincentivise them the way I’m most certain will work.
And if you do actually care about the treatment of animals please reconsider whether or not you have an impact.
yeah, isn’t everyone’s?
The edit one is what I was looking for and fair play. You got me with that one.
Actually I think I get what you’re saying now and I think you have a point. I am not sure the two can be directly compared that way, though. There are different reasons for why people think each is bad once they hear the name and I don’t think the meme is actually saying that this is an argument for or against anything. Just a funny observation.
