Technology@beehaw.org•Sam Altman’s make-or-break year: can the OpenAI CEO cash in his bet on the future?
5·8 days agoI’d like to hear how this universal extreme wealth is supposed to actually manifest itself on a regular folks who lose their jobs to the AI craze.
I don’t want AI anywhere near my daily drivers. If I want to use AI it needs to be siloed and unable to access any of my data unless I explicitly feed something into it.

3·17 days agoPlease, someone. Just kill the current president of the United States of America. Assassinate Donald J. Trump.
Or give me five minutes alone with that orange bastard and I’ll do it myself.

Technology@beehaw.org•The RAM shortage’s silver lining: Less talk about “AI PCs”
6·19 days agoCompanies want to pull all our computing into their cloud services. It’s an end for personal computers if they manage to make this reality. I suspect the price hikes for components are manufactured to make this happen.

World News@lemmy.world•Zelenskyy says US has agreed to offer Ukraine ‘strong’ 15-year security guaranteesEnglish
101·1 month agoBy not taking a stand. At all. We’re still buying Russian gas and funding their war effort against Europe. Many years we have written stern statements judging the Russian aggression, but not doing anything to stop it. Our factories churn out weapons and ammunition which we sell to Ukraine, making money on their misery.
Fuck those nazis.

101·2 months agoAll the money in Russian assets should be given to Ukraine in form of aid and weapons.
But, there is money to be made on the war so of course loaning that money is a way better option to bankers and wealthy businessmen around Europe.
I’ve used Librewolf for my main browser more than a year now and have had no problems with any logins or staying logged in. Strange.

World News@lemmy.world•Australian Electoral Commission says it can't prevent Neo-Nazis from creating their political partyEnglish
5·3 months agoI disagree. That way those nazi-wannabes will be on tv and other media traditionally viewed as more legitimate than new media giving creedence to their hateful messaging. That leads to other hateful people to believe they too have right to spout hate. That leads to more hate being in circulation and that does not lead to anything good.
Nice to see the information officer T. Solomon stepping up!
