  • I love this. I always tell people trying to get into fitness and struggling something along these lines. Anything is better than nothing. Even just going to the gym and walking around the place and walking right out… Still better than doing nothing at all. Terry crews has an awesome quote kinda along these lines:

I tell people this a lot - go to the gym, and just sit there, and read a magazine, and then go home. And do this every day. Go to the gym, don’t even work out. Just GO. Because the habit of going to the gym is more important than the work out. Because it doesn’t matter what you do. You can have fun — but as long as you’re having fun, you continue to do it.

  • Maybe I’m dumb but I just fail to see how moving to a streaming platform would actively prevent you from making original content. Like I get people aren’t buying DVDs but they rent stuff digitally and pay to watch your stuff online. Maybe the distribution of money is way different? But I would imagine if anything it would be easier and cheaper to get stuff out in front of people’s faces now. Like way easier. Instead of depending only on a theatrical release or possibly a made for tv movie or straight to dvd movie, you just get it on a streaming platform or hell even just YouTube or some random website. You can spend as much or as little as you want on it. What am I missing?

If anything I think they’re just greenlighting all these remakes because it’s easy money. People complain but they still pay out the ass to see it. If they didn’t make money they wouldn’t make them, plain and simple. I could be totally wrong here but that’s just what it feels like

  • I’ve been in this game for a good bit now and while I’ve seen a bunch of go getters put in ridiculous hours and slave away and actually get promoted, I have seen faaaaaaar more just get promoted for being in the right place at the right time or, most times, being the child, spouse, in-law, or friend of someone high up in the company. In my experience your social standing or just plain luck accounts for about 90% of it. The other 10% isn’t the work you do, it’s the work they think you do.

  • This is right where I am. The funny (and ofren annoying) part is, if I talk with someone from either side they automatically assume I’m the polar opposite of them. People on the far left thing I’m a trump loving maga hat wearing Republican because I don’t love Biden or a lot of the democratic policies. People on the right think I’m left wing extremist that wants to abort all babies and murder Jesus Christ with the LGBTQ+ militia because I don’t love everything Republican. You simply cannot exist in the middle with most people. I can’t get these people to realize I just hate all of them lol

  • I think the key thing is most people don’t like change. They know stroads. They may not love stroads but they work and it’s what they’ve used. I’ve been all over the place in this country and by and large public transportation SUCKS and creates more headaches than anything. Just hopping into a car is 1000x easier. So that’s the view I think most people go into this with. In the cities where public transportation is good, it’s a complete game changer, but they are few and far between so most people don’t have a good reference point. They see people pushing public transportation and think of their own shitty system and say F that.
