The difference is their interpretation of Islam, and how that impacts the governing.
Ahh yes, religion. You can regulate caffeine and justify beheadings, and give female suffrage! If they don’t agree, you can just sell them to a neighbor

They were 19th century steam powered wooden ships. Eventually we just started making the hull out of steel too
Took less than that to capture Baghdad. Drop the Rangers off and they’ll be sharing photos of taking a shit in Putin’s dacha by new years
They’ve got the silos for them, sourcing fissile material is my concern
Good, sláinte
Thanks for alerting me to the typo. Also I’m posting all this from Voyager, which is great. Keep up the good work 👍
Autocorrect got me, not Lamar. Levar Burton hosted a show called Reading Rainbow and also played chief engineer Geordie La Forge in Star Trek
Pretty sure Geordie and Levar from RR agree on this.
I’m one generation away from being able to get an Irish passport and boy do I hate that right now
Especially since we’ve kept a naval base/prison on a corner of the island the whole time, yay Murica.

The Hitchhiker’s Guide, you likely won’t be able to finish each of the 5 books in the trilogy in a day but it’s something you can read a hundred times and find a new witty joke somewhere, much like all the Discworld novels.
The Expanse is another that you could burn through a book a day but wow it’s a hell of a story and worth taking your time on each character’s perspective, Outlander is also a good one for the same reasons but those are 1k pagers

Company moves into a new building, threw a big Christmas party with booze. Most of the management fucked someone not their wife/husband, lots of condoms as well as heroin needles and smudges of coke left in the bathrooms. Drugs and booze all over the damn place.
We got cards and little bits of candy after that, never another Xmas party
Logistics wins wars. You could mail a package from Ohio and it would end up in Afghanistan at some soldiers hooch (send white lighters and socks). Russians throw bodies at the fight and trade space for time, they are getting a small taste of NATO/US logistics and now the UA is on the offense.
Good. Slava Ukraini
Chemical/liquid rockets and compressed gas thrusters are two different things with different functions. You’re right that lighting a fire in space won’t do much but make a cool firework. A thruster doesn’t so much push against space as it does nudge the ship in the other direction. Newton’s 3rd law and all that except the second “body” in this case isn’t something physical outside the ship but rather the force of the the gas leaving the thruster nozzle causing a recoil.
Eh, it’s kind of a grey area but not really. They also casually fire phosphorus cluster munitions over civilian neighborhoods so following any kind of convention is already defenestrated Russian style.
As for what happens next…probably nothing good now that we let the crazies run the asylum again
