I swear on Reddit you couldn’t post anything without having to spend 5 minutes proof-reading it to make sure there wasn’t a way to misinterpret anything intentionally or unintentionally and that you haven’t left any gaps in your explanation that someone could fill for you. If you missed anything some parasite would downvote you, twist what you said against you to make you look like something worse than Hitler and rally up everyone against you.

    Fuck that place.

  • Even if Putin dies and gets replaced by someone who immediately stops the war and brings Russia back into a mindset of international trade and cooperation, Russia’s economy will still be fucked for well over a century by the absolute disaster that is its demographics. They were already experiencing very bad “echoes” in their demographics from a entire generations being destroyed by their meat wave tactics of WW2. Now the problem is even worse.

Putin might have completely ruined Russia for centuries.

Actually no, when I rent a pickup truck to pick up something I rent a standard cab one that actually still fits in a standard parking spot.

A 22 feet long pickup truck is the largest setup you can get with the huge cab and large bed. These used to be extremely niche. But nowadays, they’ve become increasingly popular because some insecure people can’t cope with not having the biggest truck on the road, or people who really want a car they can move their family with but also want a large bed just in case they need to move something big once a year, which is, as I said, extremely wasteful.

The message he printed to put in his window makes it sound like he’s a victim in all of this. But he chose to get a truck like that. That’s on him.

I’ve never bought anything in IKEA that I couldn’t fit in a sedan. Almost everything comes in a flatpack box specifically designed to fit in a standard car.

In the extremely rare occasions where I ever had to move something big like a mattress or a couch, I rented a pickup truck for half a day or used a trailer. I don’t understand people who buy a huge pickup truck as a daily driver “just in case they need it to move something big”. It’s extremely wasteful and they drive like crap.

  • Anything that runs the Android version that came with it will gather data on you and short of permanently disabling the data connection, you will not be able to escape it. Google gives back door access to everything it wants, constantly sends encrypted data packets to its servers that only they know what they contain and doesn’t give you the ability to stop any of it.

If you have a Pixel phone installing GrapheneOS is incredibly easy. It gives you full control over what the apps installed on it are allowed to do on your phone, including Google’s if you wish to install them (unlike on other phones where the privacy options are grayed out for them and permanently enabled). Mind you, you will lose some functionality if you block everything. But you are empowered to decide which apps you trust to do what on your own phone and disable what you don’t need.

If you have something else than a Pixel, LineageOS is an option, however the installation process might be more complicated.

Mind you, with the FOSS alternatives you will sometimes experience some jank or advanced features that don’t work. But it is a tiny price to pay to know you’re not giving your data away. It has gotten far better in the last few years as well, at least from my experience with GrapheneOS
