Kind of crazy to talk about China and economical boom when they‘re still suffering from the housing bubble burst that turns out to be more than twice as bad as the financial crisis in 2008 was globally. Chinese citizens have de facto no savings anymore. It got all wiped. AI and automation are taking their jobs left and right. It‘s an insane powder keg that will likely end in a very ugly war of attrition.

Well, all of Germany isn‘t voting so I don‘t see how this matters. AfD have done nothing but campaigning since they started crawling out of their holes and the media eats it up. Every single time. This is yet another of thousands of fear mongering „articles“. Last time I checked AfD lost support in Berlin while left and greens gained support but you rarely hear them talk about things that matter when they can‘t instill fear in us. This is the very strategy of our failing media landscape that gives AfD so much support in the first place. Because while it‘s bad and getting worse, it‘s never as bad as they report and that‘s the problem. It‘s like a self fulfilling prophecy on steroids. Has been for over 10 years. What they call „feeling marginalized“ is generally known as AfD supporters being entitled shits. Always have been.

From my point of view China got a teeny tiny taste of what they‘ve been serving the west when they try to enter the Chinese market. It has always been asymmetrical but with this act a little bit less so. It isn‘t unfair towards Chinese companies at all, it‘s merely trying to even the playing field.

I will say that they probably did it out of the wrong reasons however and that lobbying is of course basically bribing. Just like major Chinese lobby groups keep our politicians occupied. Let‘s not pretend China never got anything out of that practice. They‘re deeply invested in EU politics.

Ironic. Because a bug on CachyOS KDE made the shut down button in the quick menu disappear. Nobody in their community could help me or explain why. Generally I would say support is rather spotty with CachyOS in general. Of course you can shut it down in many other ways but that was my preferred one. So I just lived with it and instead used ctrl+alt+delete for a while until the button magically returned one day.
