Unless you’re gay or trans or non-religious. While you’re doing community activities with me, I’m going to spend every other waking moment trying to get your human rights taken away.

But when I have time, we’ll schedule some of those community things.

Artemis was supposed to be coming this week, no word yet.

You also have to use it from the artemis.camp instance, but that’s temporary until the kbin api is finished.

As previous student who was in school when cell phones blew up in usage, I wasn’t not preoccupied by my phone because I had to keep it hidden. I was preoccupied with keeping it hidden so I could keep using it. Texting with T9 without looking was a breeze. The only thing that slowed my usage was the fact I only had like 500 texts a month allotted to me.

Making the kids hide it won’t make them less distracted. They just become distracted by hiding the phone. I feel like you’d almost have to just ban phones entirely, which today is pretty impractical.

Wanna argue about it???

I and another dude modded a 30k+ sub. There were 5 mods, but the other 3 are basically gone at that point, and I was brought on because I was active in the community. We both left, and within a week users are complaining about the slacking mods and wondering why spam is getting through, why discussion threads aren’t posted, etc.

We didn’t do anything with the shutdown, as it wasn’t “our” community to shut down. We were just brought on for workload reasons. But we’re both gone now, and the cracks were showing immediately.

Sadly, I’m fairly certain it’s literally just me in the equivalent fed community. Haven’t seen any other subs, at least.

Yup. I will “respond” to so many things, but I tend to not post the response. Just typing out my thoughts is usually enough, and when thinking more critically of what the motivation of my response is, it usually tends to boil down to “I want this other person to think I’m correct”. But that’s exactly why they responded first, and then it turns into an argument. No one is trying to learn, we’re trying to win.

Mine are still there, but edited it to a general narrative of what happened and why I edited/left the platform. I didn’t get all my comments, cause it was numbering in the 5000s I think, and no don’t care to be that through. But it got many of them, and the API changes I ruin make it hard to do now.

Same I think? Idk when metric users round up, but I’m ~1.85m. I just don’t fit comfortably lol.

Ideally, I’d be able to hook up whatever to it and use it as like…supplemental power, but honestly, I’m about as little work as possible. I’m working on my exercise bike rn, I run, I have a water rower and am planning on buying a nicer one soon cause my Amazon Special one is lacking now after using a nice one. But the recumbent bike in front of a TV is just unbeatable. I can play Xbox and just mindlessly pedal on it, and unlike the exercise bike, I don’t feel it in my taint (sorry for the imagery) for 2 days afterwards. Lol

I also try the water stuff, just doesn’t help. I have a camelback on my chair I fill with water I drink out of lmao

Some people also eat from boredom or habit; sit in front to the TV, get a snack. Turn on the Xbox, get a snack.

It’s me, I’m people. And I’m not even out of shape, just bad habits.

I’m real close to trading in my gaming chair for a recumbent bike. I’ve done it before, but sold it in a move. I don’t even sweat; I just keep moving. Works well.

If I were to pick one, I’d call it the Menocene. Seems apt.

The subdivision I currently live in, squarely in suburbia, has like a dozen kids out every single night playing in various front yards. The parents hang out in the driveways to monitor. Been that way for over a decade. All I and my friends did when I was younger was either play video games or dick around in the yard, playing football or whatever we were doing at the time. The park was far away, and we couldn’t drive, and our parents worked. We had a yard 4 feet from the front door, where else are we gonna play?

Maybe in town you’d go to the park because the other option was the street.

I was under the impression that was how it was supposed to function; boosts were the upvote and downvote is the downvote, but boosts were weighted more heavily? Or something? Lmao it seems unnecessarily complicated, just stick with up or down.

It’s an alright way to see if someone is commenting on good-faith or not. Anytime I saw someone saying highly controversial things, I’d check their account to see if they were just downvote collecting or actually held the view. It’s harder to do that now; my account says I’m at like…-30 something, on a single comment that went beyond a few people’s sensibilities. I could have put an /s on it but that defeats the purpose.

But anyone that looks at my profile now to make the “good faith” check will see me at -30, despite other contributions.

It is dumb how people worry about the number, but it does have other uses besides just a popularity indicator.
