They don’t, that’s just where they store snacks. Human clothes fit except the bust line, so it became analogous to the hoodie pocket for snek ladies.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•You walk into a restaurant and see this. What’s your first thought?
2·28 days agoTo turn around and leave. If they don’t pay the servers enough that my bill is supposed to be their entire wages, I don’t want to find out what kind of food is served. Cost- cutting doesn’t happen in only one place when the boss starts penny pinching. Also, I don’t want to support a business that isn’t taking care of its workers if I can help it, and I’d rather go elsewhere.
Also the sheer amount of that example bill worries me, cause I don’t get paid enough to be spending $90 on a meal unless it’s at least 4 people being fed. I can cook for alot cheaper at home, and still have it be celebrating.

2·28 days agoThat’s an excellent question, and much of the people here couldn’t tell you a good answer. Myself? I don’t see any triumph to commemorate, at all.

TenForward: Where Every Vulcan Knows Your Name@lemmy.world•And so humble
3·1 month agoThis raises a question. If Sung gave Data all the same functions as a living human, besides DNA, does that mean the Doctor designed, built, and installed a way for Data to frost Tasha with a glaze? 🤔
Nothing within the known universe moves faster then light, but the universe itself expands faster then light travels within it.

1·6 months agoThank you, hopefully discussing this will help some of the people I know see reality, rather then the indoctrination they consume right now.

World News@quokk.au•New US rules say countries with diversity policies are infringing human rights
27·8 months agoThe USA voted no on recognition that Food is a Human right. Only two nations voted no on that.
This country is not equipped to declare anything about human rights under the current administration. Honestly most of us expect this to end with either a revolution or a vote, and I don’t know who is more deluded at this point.
No no no, an NFT purchase only means you own the concept of that NFT.
I learned that from Futurama.
And yet there is a such a surplus of milk that the US gov has bought the extra in order to keep cheese prices sustainable for the high number of dairy farmers, then turned the milk into a national stockpile of cheese and then sell it cheaply to help find the entire racket, for the last few decades.

114·10 months agoI thought he slapped a man for making a joke? I can see why many folks would see little difference, I mean violence is violence, but if we’re talking degrees Id rather get doses of slap then punch. Still unacceptable in the situation, however, and I believe what ever issue Will had that night skills have been handled in private.
All that being said, the man has aged and people move on.

Having worked stock in a grocery store, this is part of it. After asking alot of different people at different levels, the consensus is that shelf space is also paid for by many brands, and what space goes to who is decided way above the store level. So once in a while the stockers get paperwork that moves a ton of stuff around, and no one who works in that location has the authority to say no. Sure, sometimes a manager will do that anyway, but they always have a reason, and it’s usually something about the reality of the store configuration, like not putting too many cold items near warm areas, to keep humidity down and reduce spoil.
