Ben Affleck thinks his and Zack Snyder’s take on Batman skewed “too old” and mature to appeal to younger viewers and comic book fans.
i think the real problem was the lackluster movies
Yup. No acclaimed comic books featuring an old Batman exist, so that must be it.
Well there is no acclaimed movie featuring old Batman.

Ignore the link, totally irrelevant
The writing and directing was the problem. Should have never hired that fraud to make anything with a budget.
The studio has no idea how to make a DC movie. That’s the issue. They don’t care about writing or direction, so it doesn’t matter who the movie is aimed at because it’s going to be bad regardless.
Nah, the entire DC justice league felt shallow. It was as if they were just going through a checklist of everything they thought would make a good DC film.
They had something with man of steel, after that it was all downhill.
Eh, not really. A jaded, older and experienced Batman was a nice change to me at the time, who was a young comic book fan. I quite liked their take (still do).
Me too. I didn’t mind Batfleck at all. And I like the costume from Justice League, with the bits of gold like the brass knuckles on his gloves.
But the Nolan trilogy didn’t? 🤔
Batman is such a weird superhero. Because he literally lives out a fantasy of a billionaire dressing up in a costume to beat the shit out of poor people
Wayne and Stark are kinda both “what if billionaires decided to be good people” which seems to appeal to the American dream even if not the American reality
Though admittedly, they’re both likely less impactful as vigilantes spending millions on personal weapons tech than they would be if they like… solved world hunger or something.
…And even in a fictional universe with super powers we still can’t imagine billionaires even trying to be good without suffering through severe trauma first.
TIL mobsters are poor people.
Mobsters deffinatly employ poor and desperate people
It also starred Ben Affleck.
People don’t have the time, money, or safety to go to the movies anymore.
I don’t care enough about the 50th batman movie to pay $15 for popcorn and then get shot
Should have had a demon annul his marriage to his wife so he could move back in with his aunt.
That really appeals to the youngsters.
Bigger problem: Oligarchy worship with rich person venerated as hero.
That’s a reductive take. Batman has always been on the side of the poor and common man, despite his wealth. One could point out the obvious “rich savoir” angle, but I think that far less problematic.
Doesn’t negate my viewpoint and reinforces it. There is a reason so many idiots fell for Musk and Trump.
