Legs now get automatically grouped together for more natural walk animations. In this example, the four hind legs form a group, making them take alternating steps, while the front legs move independently from them.
Cool to know someone is attempting to go after core gameplay of Spore, but personally I wish they didn’t do it like this. By that I mean don’t try to leech off of Spore sentiment. Game might be almost identical, but it should still retain its own identity, and not be immediately touted as a spiritual successor. I hate that term. Most games I’ve played that made such claims were plain bad or just plagiarism machines.
One thing I disliked about Spore was that, between the original demo video and the actual game, the whole thing got made over into goofy cartoonish Sims-looking art style. The creator of this successor would do well to avoid making the same mistake. If we wanna make more shitty meme monsters we can just go play Spore again. Give us something Spore didn’t!
Interesting to see this project is still going, I havent seen much about it since leaving reddit during the API protest.
