Barbie ruled and you and I dont need to give a pink fuck what any of these nerds think about it, baby. I went with my gf and a couple of her friends, all women. I was the only dude. Some dumb middle aged homonculus walked up to us after the credits started rolling to tell me I was “brave” for coming to the theater. I was still trying to get my shit together after the ending and was so caught off gaurd by the absolute lack of media literacy this person. Learned nothing from the film, clearly.

Barbie hate? I tried to point out the weirdness that Oppenheimer had tits in it while Barbie didn’t (obviously I wouldn’t expect Barbie to be topless, but ya know, she has bewbs and Oppenheimer is supposed to be about nukes), and I got nothing but downvotes.

People love Barbie, and rightly so, and if anything they’re a little manic about defending it.

Not that I’m complaining. I was a little jealous of all the people dressed up and going to see Barbie when I took my son to see Oppenheimer over the weekend.

Time to take your son to see Barbie. I went wearing pale blue shorts, a pastel yellow tank top with pink ice cream cones on it, boat shoes, and a puka shell necklace. My girlfriend wore all black lmao. Wanted to go more pink but didnt have time to shop before seeing the movie due to work :(

I tried to talk him into it lol he wasn’t having it. Said he would see it eventually, but he wants to see Oppenheimer again with his mates first.

Now’s the time to exploit his masculine insecurities. Say to him, “do you really need an excuse to go look at Margot Robbie for 2 hours?”

Sound design full clarity dialogue with Tame Impala vs suggestive nosies with intricate electronica and intermittant heart attacks

I’m seeing Oppenheimer on IMAX later today and I’m already dreading the Nolan sound design. Is it bad? Hopefully not Tenet bad?

If you’re seeing it in IMAX you’re seeing it the way it is meant to be seen. Nolan gets shit mainly because his sound stage is setup for the theater or nice home setups, most people don’t have that and they just blame the Nolan.

It’s his art form and to produce the quality that he wants that’s the trade off.

Definitely better than Tenet but still not great. I could follow most of the dialogue but I missed a couple lines

Nah the sound design is cool especially the different explosion sound effects. It doesn’t suffer from the “I can’t hear people talk but any sound effects are deafening” issue in a lot of movies.

Not as good as mission impossible though.
