I’m still sticking to Gnome but I love these features and how more polished KDE looks with every update (even though I still think they need to perfect some details). It makes me really happy to know we have these really important projects being libre.

Open Source@lemmy.ml•Anyone interested in helping to create a Spanish vocabulary webapp?
2·8 days agoyeah, that’s really good from clozemaster because you can “guess” the meaning and context is essential (specially in sinitic languages where one character can have multiple meanings).
i’m from argentina actually so i know how mexicans speak more than a spaniard would, feel free to dm me if you have any doubts regarding spanish. i’ll try and take a look at the code this or next week.

Open Source@lemmy.ml•Anyone interested in helping to create a Spanish vocabulary webapp?
2·8 days agoHey, I am a native Spanish speaker and have been recently playing a bit with html css js but I am pretty much a noob too, I can’t promise anything but I’ll try and see if I can help. This gives me some Clozemaster vibes, I think it could be used as a reference to improve some aspects because it also focuses on vocabulary and it has that ‘gamified’ look.

1·28 days agoWith initial life forms are we talking about LUCA or something that came a bit after? I thought the first life forms would feed from something in the water.

1·1 month agoYeah, I wasn’t expecting a name but at least being able to look for a Wikipedia article or something else like that. Still very cool, though.

6·2 months agoI think the only ones that do that are Showtime (which was already mentioned) and Clapper which looks even better IMO. I still have VLC installed because it has just so many other features but Clapper is really good if you don’t need to do anything weird with the video or subtitles to work. I really feel you on the GUI.

Privacy@lemmy.ml•How to skirt websites that block known domains of email forwarding services? [SOLVED]
3·3 months agoI have a list of the websites that I can’t use an alias that I’m signed up for, for those sadly I just leave my real e-mail address or use a secondary one depending on how much I trust the web site. Luckily I changed my alias on some that don’t let you before they added the blacklist (like Steam and GitHub) so I am able to use aliases, although they are not formatted like how I format them now.
