    Banning it was never the problem. The US banned it something like 20 years ago. The problem is enforcement when the calls come over IP carriers from foreign countries with no way to track the source because the phone system was never built with security in mind.

      And for anyone saying to ban phone number spoofing, that won’t do either. Businesses spoof the phone number of internal lines they don’t want people to call and replace it with the one at the reception desk.

    I just dont really understand the point of this. Very rarely are telemarketers domestic or traceable. I get maybe 1-3 calls a year about an offer or something, and hundreds about overseas scams.
