Imagine if a company could figure out exactly how desperate you are for a job…
Then use AI to offer you the lowest salary they think you’ll accept.
That’s the idea behind wage surveillance.
Companies are collecting more data than ever before, from AI interviews and online activity to your location and personal information, all in an effort to make hiring cheaper. The less they think you’ll push back, the less they have to pay.
In this video, we’re talking about wage surveillance, AI interviews, personalized salary offers, why you should stop oversharing during the hiring process, and how companies are using your own data against you.
Companies that pay as little as possible will have employees that work as little as possible.
“Good, fast, cheap: pick two.”
Employers can get cheap and good, but it won’t be fast. They can get cheap and fast, but it won’t be any good. If they want good and fast, it won’t be cheap.
Umm, this ain’t exactly new
They don’t need your personal data for this, they already know the value of a role, and will always offer the lowest.
My personal data will have little relevance if I’ve done my research into the value of a role. They can offer what they think I want, but if I know their actual range, and where my skillset falls, I can put forth what I want, not some minimum.
This is what bothers employers today - they know that data is now easy to come by for potential hires.

lol it is ok when a company needs to learn your current salary so they can pay the least possible amount of money to you but it is a big no no when you want to ask your coworkers for their salaries so that you can determine if you are being paid fairly.
I always tell them that I’m earned close to my target salary, without telling them my target salary.
Thank goodness the words were underlined, I wouldn’t know what to read otherwise.
has been, forever
some woke person would say he said he too many times… so lets argue about that 🙄
