Presumably, 24th century medicine makes contracting an STD a trivial issue. However, 21st century equivalent medicine would be far more limited.
“Blood-borne diseases” would make more sense, given that you’re talking about blood and not sex.

HIV and hepatitis are both bloodborne and sexually transmitted. To be most accurate, you’d be correct. But comedy for the meme community allows STD to also be correct
