He’s solved our depth problems at 8. I feel bad for Nørgaard, but if MLS is better, he’s better. No with Zubimendi getting the rest he needs, we’re so much better equipped for these last few games.
Even if Zubimendi plays all the remaining games, I would bet that a week off between them means he’ll be much more well rested for the CL final than he has been for recent games. Still, I’m happy if Midfield Lewis-Skelly gets to play at least part of them because he’s a different kind of player than either Rice or Zubimendi and it’s good to have as many options in that position as possible.
As for Norgaard, he never really got a shot. He must not be impressive at all in training or something. Even with many midfielders out injured and the others running on fumes and looking absolutely exhausted, he still didn’t get to play. To me, that’s strange. But, at least it opened a door for MLS.
