can we add an reaction emoji to be able to tag posts as AI slop?

When you report a post, there is now a new option that relates to AI posts that need flair added to them. In PieFed communities this works as normal but if it’s a Lemmy community then the admins of your PieFed instance will get a notification so they can apply the flair that Lemmy cannot.
🤖 exists, probably simplest to react that way. There is a touch of irony though in that emoji reactions are just interpreted as upvotes in lemmy.

why stupid emojis slop…reactions get insta deleted in my email. I block users that reply with stupid emoji reactions or whatever. use words, they make you seem not…childish
why not just (AI SLOP)
i considered it a means to easily tag posts by the community without the need to implement any additional programming for it.
and it shows on the main page, you don’t even have to waste a click on the post.
also i thought reaction emojis were unique to piefed, but i dont know how they present on your lemmy instance

I’m going to assume you’re 20-30 and lack local reasoning skills. emojis are pointless… now you need to define wtf that stupid picture means somewhere so people know, otherwise ‘durr what’s the little emoji mean?’
instead, forcing words like (AI SLOP) will be more universal to anyone since ya know … it says exactly what it’s trying to portray and not some hieroglyphic
emojis have no clear universal set definitio. it’s assumptions on what they mean which makes it useless to use to identify something.

You are welcome to continue using Lemmy which doesn’t have emoji, no one is imposing emoji on you.

I’m going to assume that you’re 50+ or are severely lacking in social skills. Probably both.
Text only communication is severely lacking in it’s ability to convey certain things that verbal or in person communication does. Things like tone. This means that conveying that something is said as a joke, or that it’s meant to be sarcastic is not possible in Text form. There have been many kludges to solve this (like /s for example) but by far the most effective has been the addition of emoji.
Emoji definitions come from a shared understanding of their meanings. Just like, y’know, words. (What makes you think people will intuitively know what “ai slop” means? Even if they’ve come across “bad or overused generative ai content”?)
If you pulled your head out of your ass you would see that there are already emoji associated with ai. Companies that use it signal it with ✨️ and users will often signal it with 🤖
Language evolves, and gatekeeping it is futile.
It’s sad that I need to actually explain this.
