NCC-1701 (refit) and A are my favorite designs of all time. The original shape with the refit’s nacelle design just looks so sleek without being too over the top. I don’t like the newer ships after TNG: they look overly scifi’d.
oh don’t get me wrong I absolutely love the refit and A. totally. I just don’t want to see them…again…on “new” stuff ala the Enterprise-G.
And you’re right about the ships post TNG. They went from “we love exploring” to “we gotta fight the dominion and the borg and our ships need to look the part” Just give me more of the curvy yet powerful looking designs from TNG again. And I mean sure it’s not like there were many in TNG, hell the Nebula was just a Galaxy with no neck and an upsidedown stardrive but god dammit I liked it.
Miranda had 2 nacelles, EG., USS Reliant.
Picard’s Stargazer was Constellation class.
Nebula class are dang cool, but they had 2 nacelles. Phoenix had a circular AWACS-looking sensor pod mounted above the saucer, and Sutherland had a triangular weapons platform.

But with detached/magnetic nacelles, you can turn your ship faster! /s

Love me a Miranda or Nebula class. I just think they should go faster than they do because double the nacelles
Are you thinking Constellation or Cheyenne class?

Might be. I guess I haven’t nerded out on Star Trek enough recently
