There are thousands of excellent systems out there completely different from and much easier to learn than d&d. Just stop playing DND. It’s not hard, and it’s often free or inexpensive.

If only DnD was made with the original Traveller system, it could have died during chargen

Keep in mind Traveller is space scifi, while DnD is medieval-ish fantasy, so not really comparable
