    Neil Newbon was unconventional, so he made it big in voice acting. Owen Wilson broke his nose, threw out convention, and didn’t bother with plastic surgery. Steve Buscemi, Willem Dafoe, John Malkovich, and many others don’t look “conventional”.

    I’m thinking that conventionality is overrated and unnecessary as a casting decision.

      You’ll notice those are all men though right? It’s a bit different. Shouldn’t be but it is.

      Yes, but there also needs to be the roles available. Villain roles for ugly/creepy men are everywhere and have been throughout history. Roles for tall, strong women have generally been very rare.

        And casting still didn’t pick an ugly woman. Brienne of Tarth was supposed to be pretty (heh) hard to look at. Course Tyrion was supposed to be even uglier.
