They’ve also created lovable, real-feeling characters with their own personalities, interests, quirks. They know how to poke fun without cruelty. It’s one of the best shows on TV, the best animated show on TV, and too many people sleep on it because it’s animated. It’s a gem.
Edit to share my idea: Teddy needs his own spin-off where he moves to the city and navigates life as a single man in the city. THINK ABOUT IT. They also need to crossover with The Great North. Make them extended family, come oooooon.
Bob’s Burgers + cruelty:

Bob’s Burgers + cynicism, MELISSA:

Just rewatched Home Movies recently. So fucking good.
FENTON!
Also, holy shit that picture is higher res than the show lol
Watching it on a piece of junk tv at the wee hours of the morning was all part of the charm, didn’t need those pixels
I think there is an ai upscale torrent somewhere.
Bob’s Burger’s + even more neuroticism = Dr. Katz

Now that is peak. I revisit every year and I can’t get enough.
Brendan.
This was great.
Huge disappointment that none of the kids had lines, but Louise being the only one not horrified by the blood was a nice touch.
Agreed. We put it on random when we can’t decide what to watch.
I saw Loren say once that the basic premise of the show is that “Bob can’t win.” Like, that’s the rule. He has to lose, because that action is what endears us as an audience, but also creates a plyable space to inject the kind of schmaltz that the Simpsons used to be known for in its earliest seasons.
At the same time, Bob isn’t really losing either. It’s more like spinning his wheels in the mud.
Bob has a loving family and owns his own business (rising out of wage slavery), which sometimes doesn’t do super well but typically he makes ends meet. He already won
Even if he hasn’t won, he’s 7 steps in the right direction. I’d love to live above my own restaurant/business.
