I’m buying a new (programmable) keyboard for the sole purpose of remapping capslock to backspace. Been using that for years and now my new employer forces me to use Windows where this isn’t possible without Avon rights - it drives me insane how often I end up LIKE THIS;
Both were a thing in discussions many years ago. That’s why they became a meme.
But since then it’s basically only used ironically because people quickly noticed they’re a meme.
Amazing, I’ve missed that 🤦
That seems like an overly tedious way of entering your preferences. Why can’t I just rank a handful of factors (cheap housing, beaches, climate, politics, diversity) and give them some weight?
You could even make the ranking of the factors in the current style (“snowy winters are [much] more important than beaches”). That would reduce the cognitive load of comparing 3 vs 3 properties many times in a row.
Who said that they eliminate competition that’s way behind technologically? They haven’t eliminated us, so apparently they don’t. But it seems plausible that they eliminate civilizations that are on the verge of becoming dangerous - still a great filter, but probably a bit further in the future.
I absolutely loved that game until it got too hard for me or I got too anxious about losing my souls (putting me in an even worse position from them on). Probably also about 70% in.
Sadly I played it on Switch, otherwise I would have used some kind of mod to lower the difficulty. Doing that would have sucked, but never finishing the game sucks even more…
“not” -> “now”?
It’s so annoying, really. I’d call myself pretty left-leaning (especially compared to the US political spectrum), but there are just so many inflammatory posts on Lemmy that exaggerate just for the sake of it, making anything but a circle jerk impossible.
The headline of this post leaves not much to do except hating the EBU because apparently they are actively trying to suppress any support for Palestine - except they aren’t. It’s the same rules as every year and nothing really changed. We could discuss if this is a good policy or if the ESC should be more political or whatever. But headlines like this kill any nuance.
I mean it’s just copy and paste boilerplate and has nothing to do with the problem so I think it’s pretty accurate…
