I had moved away a few years and my mother was homeless due to her own choices and lack of effort to do anything. My wife and I were in town visiting her family, and we decided to take my mother out to dinner. During the meal she was (rightly) complaining about the perils of being homeless and having to watch out for the pigs. I suggested that she look into getting into some government housing. You know her response?

If you’re as confused as I pretended I was, she means she didn’t want to live with/around black people. Which was really fucking surprising to me, considering we had lived with, around, and had been friends with all kinds of POC growing up (as you you tend to do in poor and mixed neighborhoods and when you have to rent out rooms to get by). That level of racism was rather surprising, but she had become toxic as fuck in the years before I moved, so it shouldn’t have been.
I unironically love Armageddon and The Core. Yes, they’re both stupid and unrealistic movies, but that works in their favor about as often as against. Something about the way they play with the core concepts makes me love them.
I’ve installed Bazzite, and I’ll be making that my daily driver once I finish my documentation (and figure out how to get balatro mods to actually load -.-)

Your argument seems to be"don’t hate the technology, hate the oppressors and the impressive system instead" which is the same stance the non-moddern luddites had.

My mother thought she was going to move in with me when I got a house for close to a decade against better attempts to disabuse her of that notion. It was only after I bought one and moved in with my wife/partner that she realized just how wrong she was.
What kind of “real world load” are you putting on your trimmer? Mine barely ever gets caught in hair, and when it does, the hair gets cut before it can apply any meaningful amount of force to the trimmer guard.

Yeah, I get that. But also, the root mount point is a valid partition, and it is full, so it makes sense why it shows up that way.
I think a lot of the confusion is letting go to old habits and knowledge that don’t exactly work with the new system. In still going through that a lot myself (and will probably be making my own troubleshooting post when I have time), but it’s always good to experiment and see what you can learn.

Minecraft is the one I keep coming back to year after year. Throw in a massive automation based mod pack and I’m set for months until the save lags to the point of unplayability.
I started with Bazzite recently after getting a recommendation to go with a SilverBlue derived distro, and other than trying to figure out my own issues, it’s been pretty smooth.
I do have a weird issue that crops up after reboot where the display environment variable isn’t exported or something. But considering I also had an issue with my steam library not loading that was user error, I’m not entirely sure that isn’t of my own making as well…
It comes full from the first boot, because you’re not supposed to be able to write to it. That’s kinda he point of an immutable distro
