My dad had leukemia and died at 49 during his bone marrow transplant back when the survival rate was well under 50%. I know there are different types and treatment has improved, so hopefully the outcome is good even though the road will be rough.

Stored phone numbers and GPS sre reliable though. I never remembered most numbers or birthdays anyway due to ADHD, so those being easily accessible was a benefit.
GPS directions also include construction and more accurate time estimates. I never learned alternate routes because remembering the ones I knew was enough effort and I still learn those. Going to new cities is way easier now!

I’m still wondering who is going to make the new and updated content for the AI to inaccurately return if it can’t be found using a search. Like if AI summaries replaced all the news sites, where would the AI get the news?
It seems like they took the approach of loading a ton of historical data without any forethought on how AI replacing search would kill the motivation to post anything new on the web at all.
We pronounce it the same as the linux colonel.
Of course, because it doesn’t understand anything and just spits out what it finds. Maybe it ranks certain sites as more reliable, but retractions, and where something is at in a process isn’t taken into consideration.
My very first attempt to use it for work was to ask about the current mill levy exemption and it returned a value from a proposed bill that died in committee in the last session. It also presented that failed bill and then two documents with the correct value so it not only found the right documents that would easily answer the query but presented the wrong one as fact in the text vomit so anyone who didn’t look at the documents would assume the text response was accurate.
It cited its sources after all!

Calling for the death penalty and calling for an execution mean the exact same thing.

Depends on the group. If the basis for the group identity is being criticized, that is valid. If there is institutional problems, criticizing the group for being complicit is valid.
It is only invalid when the criticism is aimed at generalizations that apply to less than half of the group, or are based on inaccurate stereotypes.
