The whole western information sphere, and most people are already mind-colonized, by attitudes like this. Any uncertainty in facts is claimed as ‘Conspiracy thinking’ and boxed in with stories of Aliens and shit - just to make it embarrassing to believe in. It’s a real playbook from the elite.

The US elites are constantly manipulating what ‘facts’ is, and muddles/hides all evidence. They can prosper for centuries behind this ‘Hard facts only’ mental shield, where all the lesser deductive and abductive facts are being downplayed/ridiculed and ignored.

It IS a badge of honor not to have succumbed to US elites constant propaganda narrative, and as long as they DO seek the facts - as all real journalism should - I think it is quite okay to try and correlate all the other types of facts (inductive, deductive and abductive facts) into a coherent and likely picture that connects the dots and show everyone how this current mess came about and works.

Let critical investigative journalism explore and try to connect ALL the dots - as they are supposed to.

Arg!! I love these passionate re-imaginations, remakes and whatnot of old games, but they are already developing with AI, so why are they not generating a new asset resource that replaces all the original proprietary stuff!

Anyway, I hope we soon get complete asset replacement for ALL the old games Diablo, C&C, Baldurs gate and hundreds of other old classics that all have an open engine that still relies on shtty original copies of proprietary assets. Nobody cares about these corporate parasites anyway, so f’em…

I think it’ll get harder and harder to find ‘pure’ distros. For a while you can maybe rely on something similar to Gnu linux-libre kernel that removes proprietary blobs, or BSD, or Gnu Hurd kernels etc, but linux-libre is already a pain if you need certain hw drivers, and eventually an anti-ai kernel will become crippled even worse, and it will become too hard to keep track of what kernels/parts of kernels is AI assisted code or not.

In the future, more and more new features will be from ai assisted code, and pretty soon, the anti-ai kernel will lose out to ai-assisted kernels in features, speed and soon stability (bug-finding etc).

The same goes for the rest of the distros that tries to avoid ai-assisted tools and code, and you/others will imho get completely swamped by this transformation. In fact, you will most certainly need an agent to keep constant track of this development.

I’m okay with AI, but I kind of feel for those trying to avoid it. Its hard enough just to avoid proprietary crap, and to me, avoiding ai-assists, is an even bigger mountain to climb. I do wish you all best of luck on that journey.

There ARE fully open models trained on fully libre with open libre data-sets, and for you - ethical data oriented - you could/should? probably accept that ‘non-pure’ situation, and use such an open llm to either maintain an ethical distro, or keep unethical ai-assist as low as you can get away with, for as long as you can.

I think your solution is a ‘declarative operating system’, where you just have a config file and the system builds it-self from that. You can decide if the system is locked to certain versions if you like. I know of Guix and NixOs, but maybe others exists. Alternatively an external scripting solution.

You still need to backup valuable local user data oc.

I would’ve said it was long gone settled that any memory gets ‘contaminated’ by the local intrinsic/extrinsic environment we are in. In other words; we always tweak all memories every time we ‘read’ them.

We need some ‘nastyness’ from nature unless we want to become sick otherwise… ‘clean’ isn’t always a good thing unless we have open wounds, or the contaminant is particularly aggressive. ? Personality doesn’t only come from genes. In nature/nurture, genes are mostly ‘tendencies’, or recipe’s and needs to be activated by environment. In the West, environment - nurture - are usually dismissed, and peoples behaviour is deemed ‘nature’ - ‘who they are’, but that is untrue, cruel and just a relic from current anti-scientific ideological claims. You can guess which ideology currently shames, and harass people deemed ‘not good enough’ as they are. It allows any elite establishment to jail and mistreat people bc ‘they just ARE bad’, and ignore the environment that led them to behave that way. Every prisoner are a prisoner bco environment, and bc the elite believe in what is convenient. We are NOT our genes, and general behaviour is much more associated with nurture after the initial fast development. Twins had the ~same environment until birth, so are very alike later. However, any ideology/religion that fail to include environment in behaviour, will have the same problem.

In short: every time we experience something, our genes get enabled/disabled accordingly. No neuron or cell stays the same in all environments, or throughout our lives. We even get behaviour from how our parents felt in their environment when they fucked us into existence.

Besides, genes are just accumulated environmental influences, so in the big picture all behaviour is really just environment.

This is/was what Pandora.com did, and the solution was to run a small proxy that directed the exact login url through Tor with a Merican endpoint while stream was normal, but you can just select an EU/UK endpoint instead.

I used a Tor proxy - privoxy, I think - from the openwrt package repo, but others exist, and for other platforms…

Not 100% on what ‘stack-based’ means here, but if ‘stacking’ = ‘tiering’, you could use a normal filesystem like bcachefs that have tiered storage ?

You can declare different tier devices for speed, availability or what you prefer, and have different compression, managed cache, auto-move hot data from cold storage, cold data to cold storage, and what not…

However, I’ve never actually tried it, so I’m likely exaggerating the possibilities. I think ZFS have tiering too, but maybe a filesystem specialist can chime in with some advice.

Alternatively, if it doesn’t bother you, it could be a great task for a sota ai, to help/create/setup a simple fuse fs for your needs.
