How do you lay off your entire visual development team? Doesn’t bode well for the movies. These are the people that create the whole visual look and style of your movie - and in many cases, contribute to the scripts with visual inspiration as well. Shame Disney!

This seems like a bad idea. There is no intelligence in AI. Its a helpful tool to be used alongside a skilled expert. It should never replace people. We need actual intelligence in there.

How about creating jobs and revamping manufacturing with people?? Seems more worthwhile.

Let me guess? The AI usage is going to stick its hand in your pocket for usage credits. Remembering that AI is currently massively unprofitable, at some point they’re going to try to make money off it. Ironically I don’t think they’ve considered that any supposed savings they make in getting rid of employees will get eaten up in energy and compute costs by AI companies. The business case for this has never made any sense.

Yeh it’s really not the same. It’s much worse!

“more profit” they say. But where will the people they lay off go? Are we supposed to stop working in IT and become farmers or something? I guess all that matters is more profit!
