If we restructured society in a way that makes increases in efficiency benefit everyone I’d be fine with such things. The difference here is, however, that we don’t live in such a society and that LLMs aren’t actually useful or better at work that people are, it’s just that managers and CEOs think they are. They will realize this in a few years after most of their software is fucked over and they’ll have to hire actual developers to fix it.

I’d recommend Matrix. It’s not perfect, but I dislike the alternatives more. Btw if you decide to give it a try, don’t use matrix.org, it’s too large of an instance which makes it slow and kind of ruins the decentralization aspect of it. tchncs.de seems like a good choice. I’d also love to give anyone in need of a matrix server a registration token, though registrations are not open on gregtech.eu, so contact me for a key if you’d like.

I use Cryptomator connected to an Exoscale S3 bucket. It’s not particularly convenient, but it’s very cheap and I use it just for photo backup anyway.
