I also appreciated the choice to focus on Elvis as a performer in his peak years. Very immersive in IMAX. Probably the closest thing to seeing him live.


Jimbocho district in Tokyo has many bookstores and shops where they sell vintage posters, lobby cards and programs like this one. The design/artwork is really striking. I picked up Moonraker + Close Encounters.


A lot of people shit on it because of the director (the guy that made CATS), but the adaptation of Les Mis is very good. The choice to record the actors singing live gives it a unique, realistic quality.


I like both, but as I’ve gotten older the philosophical approach of Malick’s film has begun to really resonate.


V is a guilty pleasure. It’s super ambitious, silly (Go climb a rock shirt?), and most of it doesn’t work - but I’m glad it exists.
