Well, they sued the magazine for not wanting to post their rebuttal, which they are obligated to under Swiss law. I’m not saying it’s not a little silly, but they didn’t sue them for the article.

I kinda do this, except I don’t pick it up. I’m just sick and tired of having useless junk lying around, so when I see something I want I consider if I’m actually going to use it or if it will just be relegated to a drawer somewhere. If I haven’t been missing it (ie. it’s an impulse purchase) I will almost always just leave it be and move on. I don’t need all this junk.
If it is something I decide I need, then I consider if it should be this thing, or if I should try to find a good quality version instead, since what I usually find is in the supermarket where it’s almost universally cheap junk. That also grants me more time to decide that no, I don’t need this thing after all.

Now that multiple people have mentioned Serenity I feel I need to mention Peacekeeper Wars as the wrap-up for Farscape. It was basically two seasons crammed into three hours, so it was somewhat rushed, but it wrapped up the show nicely and is a great watch!
What does the potato look like to you?

It’s just a matter of what it is. The end product is still garbage, but to me enshittification is the process of making the platform worse by one way or another monetising the users, like adding ads and promoting content that while not in the interest of the users will retain them (such as ragebait on Faceboo). In this case they make the content worse because they believe it will attract customers.

I’m not sure that’s really enshittification. It’s not so much a way to deteriorate the service to make money as it is an attempt to accommodate the habits of the viewers. I totally agree that we’re getting super bad content that’s only mildly entertaining if you’re doing 2-3 other things while watching, but that’s the demographic they believe they have.

Sorry, the Nvidia Shield. It’s super old, but still best in class.

Kodi running on an (old) Nvidia Shield Pro, reading from a NAS via dlnr. This works nicely and I don’t get any quality degradation… Except for HDR+ which the shield doesn’t support and I was stupid and bought a Samsung TV, which is bad for numerous reasons, but also this one.
And of course, we are now closing in on the decade since it was released, and still no viable replacement.

Running home assistant with a few addons on a mostly dormant raspberry pi. This totals to 19 lines.

I would love to move away from Google. However, Danish security apps require Google Play for security verification so it isn’t viable to move away from mainstream Android and Google Play - unless it’s to Apple, which is hardly better.

It sounds weird and I don’t get why “Evil” wouldn’t be a better fit. But then, English is my second language, so maybe you could enlighten me?

Muffin
Bluey
Bingo <- you are here
Lucky
Bandit
Chili
Stripe
Trixie
I know earth might be more bluey than Venus, but I would love to live on Bingo. And we’re kinda like fleas anyway so I think the theme is a good one.

“Evilness”?

Note that immich go doesn’t need you to extract the zip files. Also, you can set each file to 50GB making everything a lot easier.

Maybe you could use the immich face recognition to delete after import?

Not sure Alita can be seen as a standalone movie, but oh my dog I need the sequel already!
I needed something for storing important documents and installed nextcloud. After adding a single file I was reminded of just how much I hate SharePoint and removed it again.
What benefit do you get from storing files in nextcloud over just using a file system directly?
