  • I knew it haha. I already watching Journal with Witch since I love the manga so much. Grieve is such a strange feelings for me because I never experience a loss of immediate family, yet. Ofc I’ve lost pets/partner but I’m guessing a family member are a different beast altogether. In my mid 30s and dreading everyday cos my folks ain’t getting any younger.

Now if the rest of the season is like first two, I think they did a goos job. Just the inclusion of sound alone make the 1st episode better than the manga IMO.

“So that’s what Asa’s singing and how she sounds like”, I think this is the only series that make me yearn so much for adaptation, and quite surprise they did.

Didn’t know about Wonder Egg Priority, I’ll check it out but the subject matter probably too dark for me though.

  • In no particular order

    • Frieren
    • Natsume’s Book of Friend
    • Tanaka-kun is always listless
    • Hunter x Hunter (2011)
    • Seitokai Yakuindomo

And if the rest of the season is as good as the pilot episode, Journal with Witch. I’ve been waiting for the episode to comes out so I can hear what Asa was singing before the Bieber joke. It was delightful.

Eh, I’ll throw Sword of the Demon Hunter there aswell. I’m in my mid 30s so I don’t really care about battle scene as much, though I wish it got better animations. You could say the story is similar to Frieren, though not as tight.

  • Configurability? I mean Truenas Scale is also based on Debian, but it’s an appliance software, if you want NAS it’s purpose made for that. You need to configure Debian yourself if you want functioning NAS.

I still remember when TN doesn’t have native Tailscale apps/docker yet and everytime there’s a Truenas update I need to reinstall and set up Tailscale from scratch.

If you just need a NAS with basic apps/docker, there is no reason to just use Truenas.

I use both, but run a Technitium DNS and Frigate on bare Debian.

  • I also do this. But I do not necessarily think it as a bad thing.

I do not need to finish the book in one sitting, it’s fine to wander, I usually just just went on a tangent on a relevant topic though. Reading for an hour is fine, as is a 5 minute session.

Maybe immersing myself reading books just not that fun for me. But I can sit for hours studying music even without touching my instruments, just reading the chart and analysing the harmony and what not. I think reading like any other skill, needs training and I just haven’t give it enough time.

I’m a late millennial, and like it or not I’m used to being able to access relevant context and information with just a click (like Wiki).

  • Intro skipping works pretty well once you set it up and give it time to scan.

Iirc the feature used to be an add-on with module and I read here somewhere it now baked in out of the box, is that the case ?

You may wind up transcoding even if you think you really shouldn’t have to

I thought there’s an edge case somewhere but from your explanation I don’t think I need transcoding for video. Not that I don’t want it.

My NAS is old, like, i3 2100 old. So I just make sure the media can be played directly on my 2 client locally, so I don’t know how much HW transcode improve the performance but if it’s usable, that’s a nice bonus. Maybe if I ever get a 4K display but that’s a problem for future me.

I spent a lot of time getting the metadata right in Plex

Pretty much yeah, I really don’t wanna mess with the music library

    Thanks for the answer.
