Literally easier than Windows.
People are falling for this and downloading software from unofficial websites.
Linux is super easy.
- Debian-based: # apt install firefox
- Red-Hat-based: # dnf in firefox
- Arch: # pacman -S firefox
Like any DIY project; some love it, some hate it, some would prefer something that was already set up for them.
Not really. You can use
archinstall. And the guide is quite clear; I’d say it’s more time consuming the first time than actually hard.

Jesse, what are you talking about?

Using VPN right now and posting.
Normal people probably don’t know what a Gaijin even is.

Use Nobara, and install official games.
Yes, AHK.
It was amazing, and the alternatives aren’t the same :/

Privacy@lemmy.ml•Should anybody trust Firefox again unless they put "we won't sell your data" back into the privacy policy? (Have they done so...? I can't tell.)
242·6 months agoDon’t trust them. Trust open-source.
Use forks, and donate to known projects that exist for (at least) a few years.

Privacy@lemmy.ml•Umbra is a Firefox ESR fork with no telemetry
13·6 months agoI came here to ask the million dollar question, they answered it on their GitHub.
How we are differnt from Librewolf? Umbra uses the built in firefox password manager instead of recommending extensions. Netflix works, and we do not enable RFP ( resist fingerprinting ) by default as it breaks many web pages. We also have an Umbra Control Center ( about:umbra or bottom left in setting menu) that allows you to set many privacy settings and set profiles for individual web sites. ( may be more differences just the top of my head)

8·7 months agoI’d start with old groups that made to one these lists: ‘A Certain Fansubber’s Index’, ‘Seadex’s Index’ (Drive) | (Website).
Unfortunately, special effects and those kind of things are less common these days.

Privacy@lemmy.ml•What's more dangerous nowadays: To not update Win11, or to update it?
2·10 months agoIf I had to use Windows as my main machine’s OS I’d:
- Consider moving to W11 LTSC
- Wait if there are way to ‘break’ the correct service/stopping the update
- Move back to W10 LTSC, if possible, temporarily

I disagree.
But still, you need to get the installer somehow.
