I have noticed he’s still a moderator for both c/news and c/politics on .world. The exact communities people complain about when it comes to his moderation style.

Makes no sense. Both communities have plenty of other moderators who don’t stir up the same drama, so seems like it’d be easy enough to just remove him.

At the very least, he should be suspended from mod duties for six months so he has to experience Lemmy like a normie instead of a power-mod.

I understand what it’s like to have threads targeting me and to be trashed publicly. I’ve been banned outright just because of my username. And I’m not even a power-mod of major communities!

JL has done far worse than I ever did (I advocate third parties and give links to news from all different points of view), yet he’s still allowed to hold high-profile mod roles.

It’s strange how he keeps getting away with it. It’s like he’s made his entire identity out of being mod for those communities. lol

None of the other mods in the community have those badges in their profile though.

• FWIW the most coherent theory I ever heard for all the MBFC insanity was that someone had a sponsorship deal with Ground News and they were getting paid some tiny amount of money because of the Ground News link that the bot inserted into its comments.

I 100 percent believe this is the scenairo. I always have believed it.

I haven’t strayed from my logic at all. I’ve always posted news from all political angles. I’ve never hidden that, and it’s easy to see. You’ll find recent articles I’ve shared from conservative outlets, independent sources, Green Party platforms, and more.

But here’s the key point: the overwhelming majority of my posts, my voter registration, my voting history, and my volunteer work are all Socialist. Plus, and this is what you should respect, I openly identify as a Socialist.

So people labeling me as conservative is simply inaccurate.

I know you’re careful not to outright call me conservative, but whenever I correct someone who does, you’re quick to say, “but you posted this…” and point to conservative articles links that I’ve posted.

What you never mention are the third-party articles I’ve posted. Specifically all the Socialist articles I’ve posted, or the Socialist communities I’ve created and supported. Or the Socialist pieces that I’ve actually written myself. I’ve been published in print in my local Socialist newspaper under my actual “real life” name!

Despite all the nonsense people on Lemmy say about me, and yes I believe you have helped stir some of it by your selective curation of my stuff, I have stayed what I have always been: a proud Socialist.

Did he personally invest in it or something? I remember he didn’t really wanna stop using it even when everyone pointed out how bad it was. His attachement to that thing was so strange to me.

As someone who’s been the target of witch hunts myself, I don’t think anyone should be “banned from all of Lemmy.”

I also wanna say that it kinda feels a bit icky that someone would put this much effort into “researching” a person they don’t like on Lemmy, even if it’s @JordanLund@lemmy.world EDIT: After reading the thread and seeing more examples of his behavior, I don’t feel that icky about it anymore.

I think everyone needs to take Lemmy way less seriously. You all act like posts here are world-changing shit. You all need to go outside more.
