If you used two phones, one on WiFi and the other on cell data then the cell data provider wouldn’t be able to see what the WiFi phone is doing.

However: personal data and use patterns can be correlated so there are ways to track you still but not directly as a cell data service provider.

Your question is borderline incomprehensible. I’m not saying that to shame you, since it seems like English is your second language and speaking or writing in a second language is very hard.

You might get some good use out of a translation app or service. For complex and precise questions like the one you’re asking it can help with clarity.

Why what stops law enforcement from simply telling dns providers, with the force of a judges order behind them, that “your” domain should point to their servers which proclaim it to have been seized, or which clandestinely record the comings and goings of “your” visitors?

Since speaking directly to the proposed change didn’t do much, here’s an alternative to “banning ai slop”:

Ban the thing that’s happening. If there are too many “low effort” posts, ban low effort posting. If there are too many posts about non open source packages, ban posting about non open source software. If you really don’t want people self promoting with open source (a thing they’ve been doing for decades!) then ban self promotion.

The problem with all the things I just suggested is that they require serious consideration on the part of a moderator. “Is this post too low effort?”, “is this person promoting themselves in a way the community doesnt want?” and “is this post even about open source?” Are questions that require moderator effort. “Was the repo signed by Claude?” Takes no effort to answer.

Of course kicking kids out of the sandbox for not playing right kind of defeats the purpose of a sandbox and placing unnecessarily high barriers to entry on the commons defeats the purpose of a commons but what the hell do I know…

I believe myself to be a kind and thoughtful person who earnestly tries to help others but it doesn’t always come across that way to them, especially in text.

I’m afraid you might be experiencing the same thing I do. While it’s incredibly clear to you what you’re asking about in the post titled simply “good vr?” with two short sentences for a body that give no indication what you’re actually asking or hoping to accomplish or under what constraints, it’s basically indecipherable to other people.

People reading what you write don’t know what you know, and can’t know unless you tell them. It can be a lot of work to do that, but people use that work to judge how serious you are about getting their help and for that reason you will get more and better quality help if you take the time to write out clearly what you want.

The people who have lots of experience will also be able to understand what you want and be able to use their experience to help you instead of just ignoring your incomprehensible requests.

A long time ago when irc was the norm for linux support chat there were very explicit rules about asking for help intended to curb people logging on and asking “it doesn’t work, what do!” At the time I struggled to adapt to the extremely formal constraints placed upon me when asking for help in that medium. Now, with the ability to analyze and describe problems myself I can quickly get assistance in that medium (and still do, I used irc help to resolve an issue last week) on the off chance that my problem solving skills don’t cut the mustard.

You are able to simply blast out quick posts but you may find that taking a little more time nets you better results :)

If you want to actually “get” a domain name from icann, you are required to give them identifying information. There is no way around that. Except for the part at the end of this reply.

You can go through incognito or njalla and maybe even someone else, but at that point it’s “their” domain and you’re just renting it. The difference may matter for your purposes. Think critically about what you are trying to avoid and accomplish.

It’s not clear to me what you as a self identifying European expect to accomplish by not verifying your id with a group that asks for it in order to comply with the privacy law you imply you’d prefer to have the protections of. This is another area where I would encourage you to think critically about what you’re trying to accomplish and what material conditions surround you.

If you don’t want to do all that, just break the law. There’s a bigass database of ids from a breach of some company that does in person id scanning. Each one is a few bucks and you could easily pose as one of those people.

You’re describing a situation where fewer people adopt ai tools for programming or the adoption rate stays the same. That seems unrealistic. I guess you could also be describing a situation where lots of lemmy users start programming and avoid this community because of its ai ban. That seems like it would be bad though, surely you don’t want a bad thing to happen…

Basing the path of a community on what will be tolerated or even boosted by its most vocal members is not necessarily the best choice.

A better path is probably to make a dedicated hand coding community and use that instead of hijacking the extant open source community.

I honestly see it the opposite way. Graphene is doing their level best to turn Android into iOS with none of the benefits.

They’re doing all the stuff apple did for hardware except they can’t make their own so they’re chasing stuff with the security features of iphones, they’re rewriting the system apps to take advantage of those features (like apple did) but they don’t have the benefit of a cloud data system or oversight of their app marketplace.

I use graphene and ios daily. It’s really interesting how they’re going about all this.

If you adopt a hardline anti ai stance you will just have to reverse it or become an unused backwater.
