I think, if you don’t intend to tinker, the newest Ubuntu is a valid option as well.

I don’t say I like Ubuntu, but I am not the target. I think common Windows and mac user will still have their best linux time on Ubuntu.

Just make sure, that they stay up to date and get their software mostly from snapstore (which I for myself don’t even really like).

Most common software will just work, as it does on macOS.

I have a pinePhone pro, and I love using desktop UI Apps on it. But it is too slow and has too less battery for me to be usable

But I love high DPI on small screen without Zoom

I must confess, that I currently use an iPhone as daily driver, but to come back to the topic, I have a 12mini and my browser is set to 50% all the time.

I would not be satisfied with not using mainline kernel…

There is a law that will come in effect soon about selling media and games that are age restricted. The seller has to do an age verification. The referendum against it did not get enough signatures. This law will come into effect no matter if e-ID yes or e-ID no. You didn’t have to verify your age yet, because that law is not in effect yet. You will have to upload a picture of your physical ID with unnecessary private data, if e-ID gets not passed. Do you really not understand?

You need to verify age for all these services already, if you offer those. (Except 18+ streaming).

E-ID will not changed those laws.

And if you don’t use these services now, you will not need E-ID then. (Except 18+ streaming)

And if e-ID is declined by the people of Switzerland, you will have to upload ID for 18+ streaming. This law is already thought and can only be stopped with a new initiative.
