Saw the musical, though off Broadway. Didn’t like the musical… maybe two songs, but that’s it.
This will likely not be great, but probably will make money. Both performers seem like annoying narcissists to me.

Logline (probably): When two teenage siblings find an antique ViewMaster from their Grandmother’s basement, they discover that it can transport the user into various worlds, both real and magical.
I enjoyed it for what it was. Maybe it helped that I saw it on the big screen. It’s difficult to bring new life into what is now the ninth in the series. But overall, I thought it was decent, but not great.
I did think Prey was a fantastic chapter to the Predator series and I saw that at home. That’s how you reboot a franchise.
I used to think Monkey Shines was based on a Stephen King story. And so I thought The Monkey was a remake of that. But no… they are two separate stories by two separate writers.
This looks good though.
Yeah… and Coming 2 America wasn’t as awful as many on that list. I was pleasantly surprised despite the stupid title name. No where near as good as the original, but better than expected.
I can’t recall Star Trek Nemesis, but I’ve seen all the Star Trek films and I never thought any were bad enough to be put on this list.
It’s weird. I watch the first Joker like three times so far. Haven’t seen the second. Now, Requiem for a Dream, that’s a hard watch for me.
It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia did a fine musical. It’s one of their best episodes.
And despite its troubles, I also enjoyed Solo on a second watch.
But even The Mandalorian isn’t perfect. Some episodes were better than others. It was fine for a TV show. Same with Ahsoka. It’ll be interesting to see what they do with a bigger budget when the movie comes out.
I liked the first one, but not really the second one.
I dunno. Maybe I need to give it another chance as others seem to enjoy it more than the first.
Saw it last night. It wasn’t terrible, but can’t really recommend it either. There were good things in there, some surprises, but some stuff that felt slow and not needed for the story. Too many plotlines that wrapped up too quickly at the end. Several jokes didn’t land for me either. Maybe when I see it again, I’ll like it more.
It might be tough to overtake. Inside Out 2 did better with international audiences. D&W may beat it domestically though… it’ll be close for that.
This is what happens when studios don’t negotiate in good faith with their workers, the ones writing/filming/editing the actual movies.
You get strikes, then you get less content to show later on.
You also get Deadpool with his mouth sewed shut like during a previous strike.
I was kinda upset with Disney/PIXAR for not bringing back Bill Hader and Mindy Kaling due to pay disputes.
Amy Poehler got $5 million plus bonuses… and they offered Bill and Mindy $100k each. Now, I know Amy’s character Joy is the most important with likely the most lines, but that’s a huge difference. And then you cut out taxes, pay managers, agents, lawyers… the amount is a lot less. A slap in the face.
Would kids notice the difference in voices? Probably not. But then why hire those actors to begin with on the first movie?
Audience rankings on Rotten Tomatoes can give a good idea of how well a movie is liked… however there are often review bombings where groups give something a score of one instead of an actual review. IMDb scores are usually a bit better.
Critics score is more useless to me… as some are being paid by Hollywood to write a good review. Also, a high percentage Rotten Tomatoes score only means that most critics gave a somewhat positive review. I’d rather have 70% Fresh of critics who give 4/5 stars on average than 90% Fresh who give it 3/5.
They used to have the score averages of critics, but took that away… probably because some critics don’t even rate the films they review, but rather talk about it.
Best to just follow individual critics you mostly agree with.
They were making Barbie animated movies well before the live action film. Illumination also has a good track record. I don’t see the issue.
I did enjoy Chris Pratt’s Mario, which was unexpected. I don’t know about Jack Black’s performance in Borderlands, but he was good as Bowser.
I also don’t know how much of their voices were manipulated however.
Yeah. I doubt very much Borderlands will be good, but I’ve been wrong before.
I guess Lex Luthor doesn’t die in this one. I see him right there.

M for Mandalorian
This looks as generic as eating plain yogurt while wearing a white golf shirt and a pair of beige cotton Dockers at a bus stop.
