I generally agree, but those terms you prefer are specific about the type of media. I think “creator” and “content” are still the most neutral and catch-all terms, but they have been tarnished by commercialized platforms.

I usually avoid corporate stuff, but not always. What term do you prefer over “creator”?
I think the next tier would be to only pirate media that is licensed by huge corporations and still buy indie media to support creators

You beat me to it. I’ve been waiting to make that joke ever since I heard of that city’s name. When I opened the comments to post, your comment was right at the top.
This is very close to how I act towards my dad whenever he complains about his Windows 11 updates and performance.

I have almost never purchased any games from all these shady companies like EA/ActiBliz/Sony/Microsoft. I usually prefer indie games and buy DRM-free stuff from GOG whenever possible. Yet, ironically it feels like I’m not doing my part because I have nothing to unsubscribe from or start boycotting.
I guess spreading the word is also a way to contribute.
Another example of how FOSS contains dark patterns and uses anti-competitive practices against big tech. Typical. /s

Yeah, be wary of lizard people

The concept of assists makes it even more interesting. I can think of a bunch of people who would have a huge number.

No need for that because by definition it’s only displayed above people’s heads. You can tell someone isn’t human if nothing is displayed over them.

This reminds me of this animated YT video in which timers are displayed above peoples’ heads that show the amount of seconds passed since that person last shit their pants: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/WgbI5orsSMY
Over night, social hierarchies are upturned, respect is earned and lost based on that number.
An unwritten rule apparently. Thanks for the explanation.
Can anyone please explain to me why so many posters insert the word “rule” into the title? I’ve seen that a hundred times and everytime I wonder what the point is. I guess it’s some kind of inside joke.
I get your point, but what would be an alternative term for content or creators in general? One that encompasses all types of media. Maybe “artists” and “art”, but that doesn’t always fit, I guess
