I think a better solution would be state run essentials given out for free. Like food banks, free toiletries, social housing etc.
The problem with that without a UBI is that it dictates what people can economically access to whatever services are already provided. That said, I’m in favor of us getting essentials (Particularly inelastic demand things like Housing and Healthcare) and a UBI.

My understanding is that even if that is the case purchases are still not easily trackable/traceable if that is your concern. I myself don’t know specifically why though.

If it were purely for utilitarian safety and educational purposes, that would imply a much smaller footprint of their time spent consuming that information than is typical of those that listen/watch to these podcasts and shows.
Most people if they want to stay safe/live-long just need to socialize frequently, eat healthy, get enough sleep, and look both ways when crossing the street/drive safely. Because people don’t do those things and they end up dead more often as a result of those things than axe murderers.

One the other, I think my biggest issue is that this stuff makes people more afraid of their fellow human beings because of incidents that make up like 0.0001% of all deaths.
You’re more likely to die early if you are constantly alone/asocial for a number of causes. Worrying about being murdered and chopped up into pieces by some nutcase is an extremely irrational fear to cultivate. And I know that these shows do that: They do it to me every time I watch/listen to one.

They probably think they aren’t paid enough to care so much to actually exert mental effort beyond strict requests and step by step and don’t expect to have a future to look forward to so why worry about progressing in a career?
Because that’s how I treat my job. I don’t get paid nearly enough to try beyond the absolute bare fucking minimum.
That’s already happening for the sake of gaining access to console markets. I find it depressing TBH. However, I think its arguably worth trying to at least put a dent into the issue in any way possible.
