I once watched a biography on him. It mentioned that he had lost most of his hair by his early 20s. Since he would have been 29 in 1969 he would have to be wearing a wig in the video.

My sister had me set the name for the Wi-Fi extender as “Papa John’s Pizza and Abortions.” For the record, my mother’s side of the family are mostly hardcore Catholics.
(I think I mentioned this once before on a similar thread.)

It happened when I was in kindergarten. I was sitting next to a friend on the bus and she got into an argument over something with the two boys across the aisle. Being that we were all 5 year olds, this quickly devolved into name calling. I particularly got into it with one of the boys and he threatened to punch me if things kept going. I though he was bluffing and we all continued with the verbal slap fight until the bus arrived at the school. At that point we got off and lined up to enter the building. Everything seemed to be over at that point. It was not. He delivered on his threat.
He was immediately taken to the principal and I was sent to the nurse. The next day all four of us had to apologize.

How about Wafrn?

It was a very surreal experience. Being a naive child from the north, I had no idea people and places like that still existed.

When I was around 9 or so I went on a road trip with my mother, grandmother, and sister. I believe it was the time we went to Savannah, Georgia. It was the second day of driving around noonish and we were thinking about getting lunch. At this point we were in southern North Carolina and for the past couple hours of driving we’d seen a number of billboards for some barbecue restaurant. So, the adults decided that’s we might as well try it.
Once we actually get to the place it’s a little run down and it’s also obvious that it used to be a Burger King in the 90s. Upon entering the little area that old Burger Kings had before the main room it’s clear that they’re using it as a kind of gift shop. However, it’s not a normal gift shop. It’s all pro-Confederate literature and memorabilia. We really should have left at that point, but my sister (about 1 year and 10 months old at the time) was getting pretty cranky, so we went against our better judgement and went in anyway. The food ended up being awful. The meat was overcooked and dry. Additionally, the only sauces they had were mustard and a mustard-based barbecue sauce.

I’m reminded of this one distro that I can’t remember the name of, but the dev went full Qanon and that was all over their website. Like the distro was actually bundled with Qanon materials.

I’m autistic and I have ADHD, so it’s a bit of a toss up. Sometimes they demand I go through an entire thing in a day. Other times it’s years later and I’ve barely made progress. I never know what I’ll get, but it’s more likely to be the latter if there’s more content. When there’s a long backlog my brain tends to check out earlier because it’s too busy focusing on everything I haven’t done yet.

I did some research and couldn’t find anything recent that fits your issue. However, using your time settings gave me a tinted screen even though it should still be considered day time. Changing the sunset time to 11:59 PM made it work correctly, but setting it to 12:00 AM or later made it change early. I think this is probably a bug.

What distro and Plasma version are you using? Additionally, do you have it set for a specific time or based on location? If it’s the latter, then you need to check if geoclue2 installed.

I’m not really sure what to do then. You might have better luck asking on the Mint forums.

Separate drives is safer since Windows might overwrite the bootloader when it updates. If you can’t do separate drives, then you want the second option on your screen right now.

Are you using a single drive for both operating systems or giving each their own drive? If it’s the former, then it looks like you’ll have to manually shrink the Windows partition and then create the necessary partitions for Mint.

Some manufacturers have outlets for refurbished devices. They’re not like bargain bin prices, but it’s something.
There’s also a lot of electronics recyclers on eBay. I’ve haven’t had any bad experiences there.
You could also try going to local thrift stores. Don’t bother with Goodwill though. They put all their good stuff online. Unless you live near one of their dedicated electronics stores, like the one in Tallahassee, Florida.
The only other option I can think of is checking out something like Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist. Unfortunately, you do need a Facebook account for Marketplace.

I’ve tried running the diagnostics in the BIOS and the fan just doesn’t respond. It’s usually somewhere around 6,000 RPM.
It’s worth noting that we did send it in to Dell for repairs multiple times over the Yellow Light of Death (which turned out to be caused by a dead CMOS battery). After the last time it was sent in they basically told us to never contact them ever again. At that point I took a look inside the computer and found that it had the battery was wrong (it’s supposed to use a CR2032 and the battery in the unit was around half the size of that).

I don’t think that’s the issue, but thanks for trying. The computer is an Alienware Steam Machine (my sister gave me it after she got a new computer) and all the parts are stock except for the CMOS battery. It’s worth noting that it didn’t actually have the fan issue until after I replaced the battery, but it also didn’t boot at all before doing that. These things are notorious for the CMOS battery issue, but the fan issue seems unique to mine.

The fans in my computer are perpetually in MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE. I assume it’s some kind of hardware issue that’s beyond my skill. Literally nothing I’ve tried has worked, so I just live with it. I just wish it didn’t always sound like it’s ready to takeoff.

There’s a browser extension called uBlacklist. There are a couple community made lists that you can subscribe to that are based around blocking AI content.
I have a stack of blank CD-Rs. I mostly bought them for running homebrew and import games on my Dreamcast. Recently I did find some old PC games that wouldn’t work under WINE, so I ended up using some of the CD-Rs to reinstall Windows XP on my Thinkpad T60. That took 8 discs.
