    Just like they did with countless songs and probably other artwork before. They never ask. And use the “wrong” songs anyhow, songs that explicitely disagree with MAGA ideology. Which could be said about Spiderman too.

    Anyhow, I looked at the ad, it shows his hand and the webbing shooting from the wrist, and the spider-webbed queue of people at the end, with an ICE goon standing behind them. Obvious enough but stopping just short of outright plagiarism. Sony will have to have a good think if they really want to sue the government of the USA about that. Maybe they should sue in Japan, not in the USA.

      It not “plagiarism,” but it is definitely a trademark violation. That was clearly Spiderman, which is a highly protected IP. If ICE didn’t have clear permission from Marvel, this is actionable.
