A new study from Nagoya University used biofouling communities, stable isotope analysis, and ocean current modeling to reconstruct the drift path of a single plastic bottle cap carrying 307 organisms—including a polychaete worm new to Japanese waters—from the Philippines via the Kuroshio Current.
