I’m watching this game while also watching West Ham, but the hamsters are not doing what’s needed, and somehow the other team in North London managed to score against Everton.

I hope the second half is different.

So, Zubimendi at right back. Is that just in case Mosquera comes off and Arsenal needs a plan B? With the two starting RBs unavailable we know who’s going to start against PSG but we don’t know what the backup plan would be. (Only that it wouldn’t be Rice again).

I think we are trying to give both Big Gabi and Saliba a rest. So Mosquera at centreback is a more natural fit. I think we all thought Norgaard world be at right back, but between him and Zubi I could see it going either way.

ETA: And as soon as I say that we bring Big Gabi on, haha.

It just seemed a bit strange that it would be Zubimendi at RB.

It seems interesting ahead of PSG though. There’s a decent chance he’ll start at #6, and if Arsenal needs to score, maybe this is testing out a plan to move him to RB so we can get more attackers on.

More of a goalkeeping error than an amazing shot, but Gabriel Jesus deserves one after taking 3 really decent shots so far in the half.

I remember in past seasons the Kroenkes took a lot of criticism for not showing up at all. Do you think they showed up at other times this season but were just not obvious about it?

Yeah, Josh hasn’t made too many obvious mistakes. But, I still remember people being very upset he wasn’t showing up to watch matches. I don’t remember that being discussed this season, and I don’t know if he was showing up.

Salah’s finally coming off. No more terrorisation by him, thank god. What a legend of the game.

Never heard of him either. I suppose he’s one of those that’s here because it’s the final day and they need more refs?

In January 2026, Hallam made his first Premier League appearance refereeing a match between Manchester City and Wolverhampton Wanderers. During the match, he was asked by the video assistant referee (VAR), Darren England, to review a potential penalty award for Manchester City, which Hallam had denied. Hallam gained recognition for being the first Premier League referee on debut to refuse to overturn his decision when asked to by VAR.[2]

Imagine telling us when he was first signed that Mikel Merino would be a massive cult hero of the Emirates era as a striker

Remember when all the Newcastle fans were mocking us signing him.

“He’s useless! He didn’t do anything for us!”

…Maybe that’s a reflection on your club rather than on him as a player!

Tbf, I can absolutely buy that he’s probably improved like a fine wine. He’s already done so for us, after all, and he was much younger when he was there.
