      Yes constitutional democracy saves Austria and Germany from those bastards, I guess. I mean FPÖ and AfD are frighteningly strong and they can act on federal state level (sorry for those who didn’t vote them) but the conservatives seem to still have enough reluctance to embrace full fascism and enough braincells to remember the last time that totally worked well.

        They are wise to be cowards and not expose their desire for full fascism, it is never in the end a popular ideology, that is a part of what makes it inherently unstable. Fascism can only succeed if it can convince enough people it isn’t really being serious when it is in fact dead serious.

        Once it is out in the open, if Fascists don’t have full control over the mechanisms of violence and media the chips are on the table and the ruse begins to crumble.
