Hi everyone! My daughter is now developing an interest in LEGO and we want to foster that interest by getting her a base collection of LEGO beyond just super specific lego set pieces. For this purpose, pick a brick seems perfect. However, there are thousands of bricks on there. Which brick types do you consider to be the most versatile to bring out children’s creativity beyond the basic 2x4, 1x4, 2x3, 1x1 rectangular bricks? Thanks for any input!
Plates and SNOT (studs not on top) bricks are good for developing more advanced building techniques.
I would actually recommend starting with something from the Classic theme - there’re a lot of really great sets that are essentially a bunch of varied pieces with some great build ideas. Much more cost effective than pick-a-brick (which is generally much better when you’re looking for specific pieces for a planned build).
Thanks! Maybe i should add that we already have the classic box and would like to go beyond that with pick a brick :)
If that’s the case, then I would suggest looking at City, Friends or Creator sets, or doing what @GandalftheBlack@feddit.org suggests.
