I agree with you, but “intent” is also important when it comes to art. While I’d like to believe he had something like what you mentioned in mind, I think it’s 1000% more likely he made that in an attempt to make a “too edgy for you” joke in poor taste.

Yeah, they are literally adapting Frieren panel by panel, line by line. The only difference is the animation is top notch with even the small details, and the voice acting is hitting it out of the park. At this point I think it’s safe to say the anime is the definitive version.

Spy x Family is basically just a sitcom, after the initial setup there really wasn’t much overall story or character growth. That’s totally fine, but it’s not really going to generate a lot of buzz each week.
The only one that might have a legitimate argument is Freddy. He was burned to death by a vigilante mob after being “cleared” by the justice system. So one could understand his need for revenge. (Just ignore the fact that he really was a child killer and only got off on a technicality)
Maybe they’re talking about that song by Pink, in which case I 100% sympathize with OP’s point
10·2 years agoMeh, whatever. Even if the fediverse were to never get any bigger, it’s still a win. This place is big enough to be stable and generate it’s own content and culture. All that matters is if you’re enjoying it here and actively trying to make it a better place.
Yeah, you would learn some things, but you’d end up speaking like cringy middle schooler. Business and daily life conversations are significantly different from anime and manga ones.
