Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's the most horribly aged comedy film of the 2000's?
52·1 month agoIdk I either thought they were funny back then and still do, or I didn’t think they were and they still aren’t. My taste really hasn’t changed

4·1 month agoI was just saying how I remember back in the day you could get nice quality jeans, like 99-100% cotton, normally priced. But now the jeans I used to get are considered “luxury jeans” and cost over $200. No exaggeration because I’ve been on the hunt for moderately priced, good jeans for years now

3·1 month agoI think it was after the Jimmy Kimmel nonsense we decided not to resubscribe and just never went back. I’m about done with all of them at this point

17·2 months agoThe only thing I’m most worried about is losing my job over non compliance. I can handle not participating in society. But if that’s what it takes to draw the line, I’m really considering it now and finding an alternative way to live. It’s dumb that this can even be allowed. But at this point, it’s obvious that the top just wants wage slaves to exploit in every way possible. I can’t imagine my kids growing up like that, ya know? It’s got to stop

7·2 months agoIt is appalling, but I could see parents from 20 years ago being less concerned than now. Of course back then they weren’t aggregating user data to today’s level, at least I don’t think.
What bothers me too are things like Palintir. Like, I don’t want my kid in some massive police database before they even turn 12

24·2 months agoI’m 100% not convinced that it will stay this way. This, to me, is a push towards ID verification. Age verification is a first step. To me, it feels more like a step towards building an infrastructure to track any user

26·2 months agoI fucking guess. I am at the point where I will take my children out of school if they are forced to do face scans or give any ID in order to participate and learn. I’m almost at the point where I would rather lose my job than comply with this

3·2 months agoEven so, that’s an insane amount of retries! I guess I would have thought it would retry a few times and end up in a DLQ or something. But perhaps it’s normal for IoT

2·2 months agoWe mainly tried this first out of curiosity, and because the LG tv has some parental controls we use for the kids! But gonna have to find an alternative

262·2 months agoThat’s true, and yeah still crazy. No, we tried this first just out of curiosity and because our kids use the apps on the television. But just completely dumbing it down will be the next step. I’m just disappointed, man. It was a new tv

It’s tough to prevent that type of culture when art organizations aren’t even disallowing the use of AI anymore.
