Finished Kemonozume last week. I think it’s Masaaki Yuasa’s most underrated work so far but I’ve yet to see all his works. Really love how crude-looking it is and yet it feels very intentional and complete.

Strawberry. Layout is great. It’s cross platform so it works on Windows/MacOS too.

I wish it had plugins like foobar though. I keep foobar for the ABX plugin when I encode music.

The exhibit goes on until January 12 at Roppongi Hills. Tickets are ~2000 JPY.

edit: I should mention that these photos were taken on November 24. I wanted to post this on the same day but I kept falling asleep while trying to upload everything

editedit: I REALLY REGRET not buying the shopping back merch at the gift shop. I was disappointed that the Asuka posters were sold out. I was considering the shopping bag (it had a print of a keyframe of Unit 01) but when I picked it up, I heard Anno’s voice whisper to me “Really???” so I put it back down and walked away. The moment I stepped outside I realized that the one thing I don’t have and always forget to bring with me is a shopping bag like when buying groceries. Sorry Anno but it doesn’t seem like I’m ready to grow up yet.

It’s been a while so I can’t remember much of the details anymore. I do think there’s some more politics in there somewhere but I’ll have to revisit the manga. Maybe a second reading will reveal it.
