Yar har, fiddle dee dee, being a pirate is alright with me!

My take: Run what you want on your own damn hardware. If you feel the need to make it a ‘service’ in order to run it, think very carefully about WAY more than just the money it will cost you to do so. If you feel the need to take a massive IOU to buy the hardware or LAND to put that hardware, go die in a hole. If you feel the need to reserve the world’s entire manufacturing supply for hardware to put on the land you put out an IOU for, I sincerely hope that you get a pineapple up the ass as you’re getting beheaded in whatever town square.

LLMs regardless are awful. Running whatever model on your own hardware is fine, but it depends on if what you’re doing with it is creative or not. Writing, art, etc. are out of the question. Help with coding, pattern recognition on a large subset of data, etc. is fine and isn’t too far from stuff we used to use for those purposes anyways.
The issue at the end of the day isn’t AI. It’s where and how it’s used and, on a larger scale, what markets and environments are thrown into disarray because of idiots.
Maybe because they’re spread out over a bunch of different instances?

Tell ‘em to move to Texas where they can have cheap gas as prohibitively expensive property taxes instead!

A modern PC build. Can’t afford a new GPU or RAM. Mainly so I could actually get some use out of a monitor that isn’t fifteen years old.

Nothing like having your kids pay for the house you buy…

I’ve got a Ford Ranger I wanna do the same to. Eventually…

How’s that for diskless, Sony?
No Mo’ Pollo no Homo.
Somewhere between a 2 and a 9 on the pizza scale, where 1 is literal cardboard and 10 is impossible because nothing is perfect.
Wife surprised me with front row seats to see Chris Titus live quite a few years ago. Got to see a lot of material that wouldn’t make it into a special until years later. Laughed my ass off harder than I had in a long time. Was really special.

No, but, apparently I have to in order to sleep and it’s causing a bunch of problems.
Because anything left of center is a different group. Liberal Democrats, Social Democrats, Maoists, Stalinists, other Communists, and even Leftist Anarchists. I’m positive there’s more. Of those you can group them between fascists and anti fascists, pro-government or anti-government. The world is far from being black and white.

More than anything that particular part still sits with me. The chapter title appearing, the voice lines from Wheatley and GladOS, and the achievement pop up. All perfectly timed.
The cherry on top is that, once you leave the area, if you double back Wheatley comments that he didn’t think you would and he kindly asks you to jump into a bottomless pit. Upon doing so, he reacts with pleasant surprise.

Because the literal children tasked with firing everyone and implementing AI have done so.

I’m straight, but y’all call yourselves whatever you want. We’re all people deserving of the same love as anyone else.

Something about leopards and faces.
