yea thats the only reason why i think getting a cheap old computer really isnt worth it, youll be charged more in power by way more and way faster compared to a phone that just sips power or a pi etc
Linux and Foss lover, rice lover, tinkerer, W achiever, Mononoki Nerd Font Mono enjoyer, 5700xt regretter. my ryzen 5800x is missing a pin but it was just a ground pin. I run arch but i dont say that stupid fucking joke i just prefer it and honestly it can be embarrassing … im a socialist and every gamer should be on linux using bcache, not bcache fs, bcache. your home needs a lab |

i wouldve if it was supported for this phone this was the second option when it wasnt supported lol

oh really? is it not possible to update an android kernel then? i assumed they used and included existing but modified or updated kernels

oh this is fuckin awesome bet

and in samsung’s case to install israeli spyware while theyre at it

thats something i dont really know anything about lol i tried doing a cursory search and its a bit confusing to know if thats possible or not

thats awesome though and cool as fuck its a good way to breathe new life into what wouldve been ewaste

whats the stuff you ran on it?

i dont wanna use docker but i did just find a docker image for armv8 so it seems that is at least something that could be done and docker seems to work on android

i dont know if keypassxc can sync with nextcloud but if it can then running nextcloud and connecting your devices to sync there is what i was gonna look at actually but ik less abt it than the rest so far

i shouldve said people should do that if possible for them but theyre not supported on all devices most capabilities didnt have support for my a32 sadly

if the phone is mainly supported for pmos then you don’t even need to go through all this annoying android shit lol my phone was just not very supported sadly so I decided to go this route. I should’ve said Postmarketos is the ideal solution if supported in the original post

thats also why its best to update to a custom rom on a new version of android yea. But this is more in mind for people without the resources for a server in general to run such services, which are still definitely more secure slightly out of date than running no protections at all. Ideally its all hosted behind a modern and up to date router.

:I who cares… do you want it to be called system partition encryption? i mean honestly that sounds better imo but its not something that’s a big deal
oh its a shame you deleted this that person is a fkn loser and deserves to be called out for being a bigotted freak. they posted like 4 comments under this one thread looking at their account its wild

good riddance lmfao
For new people i think you’re good off on something debian or fedora based. if you’re willing to learn a lot and fix things when you have problems, an arch based distro is both versatile and a great place to learn such things. if youre interested in a very unique take on a computer interface arch omarchy is popular right now. but ultimately fedora and debian are gonna be the hassle free linux environments compared to something like cachyos or garuda, and id recommend against going with those if youre gonna use an arch base because they introduce their own issues. if you go with an arch base just do vanilla arch and if that seems intimidating then youre def better off using something less cutting edge
it really is yea, even if most didnt work if at least networking and cpu/gpu support works i wouldve gone for it
