Another Kobo fan here. Got the Libra 2 for physical page turn buttons. No subscriptions. Haven’t accessed Libby but it’s an option. Can sideload with no issues. Doesn’t have a planner unfortunately. Great device, had mine for three years so far and hoping I never have to buy another one.

movies@piefed.social•New predator surpassing expectations at worldwide box office
1·28 days agoNot in its entirety. I remember a scene that showed the Predator’s night/heat vision as it was hunting someone, that’s about it.
So short answer, no I have not 😂

movies@piefed.social•New predator surpassing expectations at worldwide box office
2·1 month agoPreviously saw AVP but remember nothing about it, that is the extent of my Predator knowledge/exposure. Hubby and I saw this yesterday. It wasn’t great but I did like the ending. Not necessarily opposed to seeing future movies.
Also was SUPER distracted by Predator mouth parts 😂

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Leaving food on the counter - the absolute survey
2·2 months agoAmerican omnivore.
The only reason I leave things out is if they’ll get soggy in the fridge. This generally applies to pizza and biscuits (in a bag). My gluten free bread is refrigerated because it gets moldy before I finish it, regular bread is on the counter.
If I happen to forget to put away leftovers, I’ll refrigerate them when I get to them as long as they haven’t dried out or anything. I’ve woken up in the middle of the night to do that.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What in your country/area is totally normal but visitors get excited for?
2·3 months agoThank you! I’ll be planning my first solo “escape the world” trip either this month or next month (I’m from northern GA) and I’ll probably spend most of my time in a cabin just doing a lot of nothing.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What in your country/area is totally normal but visitors get excited for?
2·3 months agoAh, yes. Those fuckers regularly stopped traffic when I lived in Michigan. Not for tourist reasons of course, they’re just big and travel in packs. And take their sweet time crossing the road.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What in your country/area is totally normal but visitors get excited for?
2·3 months agoWhere would you recommend? We visited earlier this year and I found it overwhelming, though the abundance of family-friendly stuff was nice.

Oddly enough my dad doesn’t have a custom ringtone, may have to look into that. Everyone else isn’t special enough to get one.

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•We all sleep alone soundly; Maybe the key to a happy marriage is separate beds
7·5 months agoMe and my husband HAVE to have separate beds. He moves around a lot and it’s like being in an earthquake.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What does 1000€ buy you in your favourite hobby?
7·6 months agoA lot of yarn. A few motorcycle jackets and pants. ALL of the video games. A lot of yoga accessories that I’ve ogled but never bought.
Good and meh. Personal life is great. I’m able to engage in all the hobbies I want to and am particularly chuffed about learning to play piano. Got a new motorcycle last month that I actually enjoy riding.
Marriage is pretty good. Got a bunch of child support earlier this year, which helped pay off most of my son’s medical debt.
Work is…meh. I love my job but I’m over it when it comes to working in general.
Health-wise… it’s okay considering how bad it can get. I don’t sleep well due to my heart pounding half or the whole night (been an ongoing thing for over a decade and no one can tell me why) so I take a blood pressure supplement (the only thing that helps). Always tired. I’ve become more of an introvert, which is completely fine because I really love my alone time. Have a good group of friends that I stay in touch with and occasionally socialize with.
Overall, I have no complaints. Unsure about the government situation but I can’t get stuck in worrying about that because that dumpster fire will just keep burning. Hoping for enough resistance to keep things from exploding…

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What app is so useful, you can’t believe it’s free?
2·11 months agoSeconding AntennaPod. Used Stitcher and Podbean for a minute and it was frustrating that it usually took forever to resume a podcast from the widget. AntennaPod eliminated that for me. FOSS for the win!

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What was/how is your best relationship?
3·11 months agoCoworker I met when I started at my current job a year and a half ago. She’s the only person who makes me feel unconditionally loved, safe, and more confident in being myself than anyone else. She’s pushed me to be more engaged in the friendships I care about, which is hard because introvert. She has an awesome personality and has introduced me to a group of other squiggly (LGBTQ+) people who are super supportive.
Love at first sight 😊
SAME. Everything prints faster and worked well from day one.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What did you eat for 1) breakfast, 2) lunch, and 3) dinner today.
2·1 year ago- Chicken sausage and microgreens with basil pesto.
- leftover pizza
- yogurt, sunflower seeds, and pretzels.

Sparkling water. Liquid Death has a cola flavor that’s satisfying in that area without the sugar or caffeine.
Also regular water.
