2·9 days agoAnd not share the beauty of the natural world with the next generation so that they get a love of the world young?
Unfortunately I’ve gotta.
Laws are only as good as their enforcement
I wish my torrent client showed the combined total but with the amount that are left seeding I’m sure it’s hella high but not quite to petabyes yet, dozens and dozen of terabytes for sure.

18·9 days agoThe solution I went with is slightly different
Slightly NSFW continue

Unfortunately they changed the rules about placing stickers directly on the passes in response to backlash about his picture
EDIT: I put mine in a perfect sleeve for TCG cards and used my soldering iron to make it fit better and then placed the sticker on top.
No whiskey, that shit’s expensive (plus I don’t drink)
It’s why that bit is dubbed out and the subs say “rice” (though I could have had the audio muted for a couple more frames to get rid of the the “ee” sound)
I was tempted to dub out “bacon” and duplicate him saying “beans” to increase relatability (and to be more accurate lol) but decided against it out of laziness lol

2·12 days agoThat’s the big problem really, affording the ability to fight shit like this.
I’m unfortunately in such a situation where I wouldn’t be able to fight it if they tried to evict me for it.
Though my home state now makes it so they have to allow us to install one, it doesn’t mention them being unable to put restrictions on it’s install. One of those fun things where it’s better than it used to be it’s still not perfect. But steps in the right direction is always a plus.

7·13 days agoI’ve seen some insane restrictions on what you can and can’t do in apartments.
Like in my apartment I’m only allowed to put an AC in 1 window of my apartment (the furthest from the bedrooms BTW), it can’t be anything other than a portable AC, and any gap around the hose needs to be clear (glass, polycarbonate, acrylic, etc.) yes even the window insert that comes with the AC has to be clear. When I moved in I thought the insert around the hose that came with it not being clear would be fine, it in fact was not. It also has power draw restrictions so I can only basically get the smallest kinds on the market.
I’m also required to have all windows and doors closed and locked when nobody is at home. Yes that means I have to pull my AC hose out of my window when I’m not home. I figured that out again the first year I lived in my apartment. (they rang my bell when I wasn’t home, then sent me a certified letter informing me I had 72 hours to fix the problem or they would serve me notice to vacate.)
Yes every summer it easily clears 90F (32C) inside and sometimes even breaks 100F (37C). And due to being an upstairs apartment that means the heat stays almost in it’s entirety overnight.

3·14 days agoIt’s supposed to remind people of the stupidity of the “paradox of tolerance”
My goal is to hopefully to spread the idea far and wide that “tolerance is a peace treaty” that hopefully more people will think of it when they encounter the kind of people who scream things like “so much for the tolerant left” and the like.
Having the tools to fight nazis (rhetorical or otherwise) being spread far and wide will help us to defeat them again.

32·16 days agoTolerance is a peace treaty and the nazis are violating the peace therefore your post is BASED AF

You’ll pry my old outdated terminology from my cold dead hands lol
I keep getting recommended this, it’s next in my queue!
I’m hoping to start it in the first week of August
When I used to have a cat this was true for me too
Reason why
The one time he puked on my chest while I was sleeping and since then
The moment I’d hear that first retch I would be on my feet
Living their best lives
Seeding those obscure pieces of media to hella high ratios is always nice, sometimes you’ve just gotta find an old piece of media and that 1 seeder whose been seeding it for 10 years is like a breathe of fresh air
My first seedbox was literally an old office PC (that I got from an electronics recycler) with a chonky HDD in it running Ubuntu and sharing it’s drive on my network. Was it ideal? Hell no lol I literally had an old 10inch LCD screen, keyboard, and mouse that I had to leave hooked up to it as I couldn’t figure out out how to dial into it remotely.
I learned a lot since then but NGL the old setup was so simple I miss it sometimes lol
Don’t let your dreams just be dreams!
Setup a seedbox to chill in the corner and you too can achieve a magnificent ratio!
I’ve literally bought blurays or DVDs in the past just to rip them myself because I couldn’t find a torrent that would finish.
Almost did it last week in fact when I had one stuck at 18% for a week and change, the day I found the bluray and put it in my shopping cart with a 9pm deadline was when it picked back up and finished. I was happy because the bluray was like $70USD before taxes and shipping.
I was literally gonna give it this weekend as a last hold out before giving up, but now that it’s finished I’m gonna leave it on my seedbox until the seedbox dies.

Depends greatly on the site, and that’s also quite a bit more expensive over time than the $80 pass.
The pass also gives you access to federal lands (Like BLM land and wilderness areas) not just parks.
